"No Mo Chemo WOD"
8 rounds for time of:
8 pull-ups
8 T2B
8 burpees
8 box jumps - 24" (20")
8 kb swings - 32kg (24kg)
8 goblet squats - 32kg (24kg)

As a small community in the realm of CrossFit, we witnessed something truly amazing. Human potential at its finest, perseverance in the midst of adversity, utter will to succeed no matter what! We saw Janice beat cancer, and train through her chemo treatments. We are so proud of you Janice, and to prove it, we are all going to go through 8 rounds of 8 reps of 8 movements! We know it is extremely pale in comparison to what you went through, but please know that we were with you, and WE ARE WITH YOU every step... I mean, every burpee along the way!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Janice-you are amazing! You told that cancer to GTFO, and were right back in the Shed. And right back in the Rx column too! Incredible. It's been an honor knowing you and working beside you.

Hi Janice, haven't met you yet... but you rock! Great motivation. Congratulations!
We have a little saying in our house since we lost my dad to cancer so hope you don't mind..."Go Janice, F*#& Cancer!" :)
Posted by: Jess | January 24, 2011 at 09:37 AM
Janice, you are a true inspiration to see how you took on cancer, faced it, battled it, and worked through it. You came to the shed with a smile on your face and all the while rooting on your fellow shedheads. You rock girl! Hope to do a WOD with you soon.
Posted by: CKL | January 24, 2011 at 09:54 AM
Janice, this is wonderful news! Congratulations on showing cancer who's boss and that you can't keep a CrossFit girl down. I have great memories of us working out together as the 7:30 crew. I hope we'll be able to do so again soon!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do this WOD tonight but would definitely like to at some point this week in your honor.

Ditto what CKL said- you're awesome Janice and truly an inspiration!!

I think all sentiments have been said, even the ones with cuss words. I think there is a consensus that you, Janice, are truly an inspiring figure at the Shed and we truly admire your strength and tenacity. Here’s to you…

A Bada$$ WOD for a Bada$$ woman....
I am so thankful for Crossfit for so many reasons - but today is a great day to be thankful that the Shed introduced to Janice.
Selfless, Kind, strong, supportive and GENUINE....That is who you are Janice and I am happy to know you.

Scott and/or Janice - Can we get a recap on how the snowshoe event went?
Posted by: Brendan | January 24, 2011 at 12:27 PM
We missed the snowshoe race start time so we just walked the 5k. We did pass a lot of people though. Fastest time was about 19 minutes. I think I couldve beat that. It was fun though. Next year we should all do it. Go Team RedShed!
Posted by: scott | January 24, 2011 at 01:05 PM
Nice! I assumed there had to be a reason why I didn't see your name in the top 3.
Posted by: Brendan | January 24, 2011 at 01:39 PM
nice job on video, could have been a little better with a dp appearance but it is still great.
Posted by: dp | January 24, 2011 at 03:24 PM
sorry i missed the "no more chemo WOD" i will definitely make it up. dp got a little over zealous on Friday and his neck is paying for it. back in action tomorrow

Scott told me not to read the blog until I got home today because it would make me cry...I thought he meant because the WOD was going to kill me (in a good way of course), not that it was really going to make me cry, cry :)
I can't thank you all enough for your support. There is absolutely no way I could've, nor would I have wanted to, go through this without ALL OF YOU!
You all have been my inspiration (and still are). You kept me going, especially on my rough days. All I had to do was read the blog or visit the Shed and I got totally pumped.
I love you guys!!!

DP, thanks for posting that link...some catchy stuff.
Posted by: Rich | January 24, 2011 at 08:06 PM
Joe, great video. But where's the ladies??? If I didn't already do crossfit I'd assume it was mainly a male sport. Just sayin...
Posted by: CKL | January 24, 2011 at 08:08 PM
great point CKL! Crossfit women are no joke and the young men should be made aware!
Posted by: Rich | January 24, 2011 at 08:53 PM
This was not meant to be any disrespect toward the ladies who are totally badass but the video is for the high-school wrestling community which is male dominated...trying to get some support for redshed from the wrestling community. I am sorry and would be proud to make a video of the redshed women. Janice and Scott I dedicate my wod time to guys tonight because it was my motivation to get in the shed. Can't wait to get back with my pm crew this.

Like I said, the video gave me chills!
We need another Shed video made!!!
I WAS going to comment about only having the guys in the video too...think of all the stat girls out there that should being doing CrossFit. I got a small glimpse of my T2B though in there.
