First 5K of 2010 in the books! Great turnout, great efforts!
Thanks to Brianna for taking pictures.
Time to take on little miss cindy!
Our Maria missed regional competition by one point.

Aloha ShedHeads...
So after a very long, competitive weekend..I am sad to say that I came in 4th place overall. There are skills that I didn't get that I absolutely should have gotten, which kept me behind. Altho I came in third in the gauntlet, it wasn't enough to get me ahead. I was 1 point behind 3rd place (overall). Each skill was worth 2 points, so you can imagine how bummed I am that I didn't get some skills that were sooo close!! For example, completing the row in 1:50.7 seconds (needed to be sub 1:50), or squat cleaning 135 lbs but dropped it on the jerk. It was a very intense weekend, yet fun in a masochistic way...I have been crossfitting for 8 months now and a year from now I should be able to take on Dr.K (women's champion).
Congrats J9 on coming in first place in your race - I have no doubt that you will kill it in the sectionals. Just know that adrenaline is very powerful and will help you tremendously!! The sound of the crowd is exhilarating! and so was my mudslide afterwards with extra whipped cream and chocolate syrup. i'm sure i'll be just as pleased with my dessert crepe for breakfast tomorrow!

Maria-
Like I said, we are so proud of you. I don't know many women that could have even attempted half of what you did.
It was just as exciting here in NJ waiting to get updates from you throughout the weekend.
I am so hoping that there is some video posted on the main site soon of your events.
Finally...glad you took the advice on finishing up with a treat that was not so good for you. Rest up, recover and then back to kicking butt at CFO!

great work Maria, can't wait to see where you're at a year from now!
"Dr. K" is a machine, and if you're within breathing room of her next year, you'll be looking towards the games and not the regionals.

Maria, you should be very proud of your accomplishment. We all are proud of you here in NJ!

Awesome job Maria and after only 8 months, can't imagine how much stronger you will be next year!

Maria, I am floored you have only been a crossfitter for 8 months! You are truly amazing and your accomplishments speak volumes of your passion and commitment. Congratulations on how well you did your first time out!

FYI
A new RedShed record for "Cindy" was set today, and 50 percent of the athletes who trained this morning got 20 or more rounds.
Can you say "measurable results"?
Who's up for the challenge?

Absolutely fantastic working out with Sena this morning :) And it was an added bonus to see Kenny and the Lenosky family back at the Shed.

How can you not luv CINDY?!
SvW-
I don't know if you made it in later in the day, but if not, you know I always mention that the O'RedShed can always accomodate CINDY. Almost a year now in the new place and I have yet to do CINDY anywhere but the old Shed.
But rumor has it that Sensei had the new record for # of rounds, so I have to get this one in soon (non-MURPH) to try to top it. He is on fire since coming back...fast 5K and leading the pack on Cindy.
Rock on!
Looking forward to seeing some crazy results from the group!
Egga-baga!!!

J9, congratulations on the 5K win! You make us proud as always!!! I can't wait till the NJ sectionals to see you crush the wods. Feran wants to learn to tak so he can cheer you on.
Maria, great job! I was just re-reading the wods... Wow woman! Really, fantastic work.
I just love the Shed...
Ally Kat, I used your jumprope today during my warm-up. Where is the one with the pig handles? I miss you :))) (I was telling Kenny how we used to do wallballs together everyday. I miss that.)

BF, in reference to your vest comment... I figure I am slow anyway, so I might as well make these wods/runs worth my while by being 10# heavier.
So far, it is working... I think!
My goal is to get a sub 25:00 5K this summer.
