BEST OF LUCK TO KEVIN AS HE TRAVELS TO CHARLOTTE FOR HIS FIREFIGHTER TEST!!

there is some great controversy happening on the games site about our sectional hahaha...other than nasty girls, i think it is pretty creative now that i think about it...i like how the skills are incorporated...not something that other sectionals have done yet.
i'm excited to see what montclair has up their sleeves for you j9!!

I agree and disagree Maria, its a sectional after all, 5 wod's seems cruel and unusual to me, especially starting with nasty girls, and ending with that last one.
the skill sets are certainly interesting though, and should prove so as well.
that said, you dont need to worry about any of that stuff... stay focused and be smart, strong and fast.

Well Maria, it seems like a lot at first glance - but I don't know. I kind of like the skills - seems in keeping with your gym, you guys have that RX list, gotta love it - goals for everyone, haha! (Love to know how they work that - do they have people working on the skills list from time to time, or you're on your own to tackle it if you want to?)
The other stuff, Im guessing youve done most if not all before... GO GET EM! You'll do fine! You'll have a blast! BEST OF LUCK!

Maria-
Extreme pain and ridiculous outfits...high socks and lipgloss (or lip ploss as Ally Cat says).
Go get em!
Can't wait to see the videos of this.

I LUV lip ploss!

Lisa + ????
I want to guess EGGPLANT (again!)
Posted by: J9 | March 12, 2010 at 06:14 AM
@Kat - the SoCal movement standards vid has a burpee section that shows exactly what Janine was explaining to us that day... With chest on the floor & speed, I guess your legs can't help but touch too....(MY chest doesn't *touch* the floor!?) So 2+ months of burpees here, what's that word J9???
MODIFIED! hahahahahaha!

Cheryl is officially in the pull-up club! She did WOD2 rx'd and has two nice rips to cap off the awesome effort!

What's not to love about high socks and lip gloss?? I'm a big fan!
Posted by: Pat | March 12, 2010 at 10:28 AM
Congratulations Cheryl! You've worked hard for it! Now rest those hands this weekend.

Yay Cheryl! Stay away from the Nuskin!
Posted by: Kat | March 12, 2010 at 10:39 AM
I'm bandaged up now so my hands look much better than they did when I left the shed. It feels good to be part of the club - thanks for everyone's encouragement!
Posted by: Cheryl | March 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM
Thank you!! high socks for SURE
svw - yeah i'll agree with you the 1st and last wods are a bit much...however i don't blame him for doing 3 on sat and 2 on sun...it is a very small sectional - under 10 competing for girls and idk how many guys are competing, but it is no where near the amount of ppl competing in other sectionals. therefore we wont be having as many heats - so if we did 2 on sat 1 on sun, the days would be very short. hopefully the skills sessions won't feel like a "wod" - more of an active break lol
deb - i like the set up for the skills "wods" as well...it does remind me of the RX Checklist too. For that, you are on your own. Once a month is the test and if you think you are ready for it, you sign up. other than practicing everything on the list, there is just one thing keeping me from signing up for that - 3 muscle-ups in a row. bahhh...

I dunno, ripped hands, bruises, bleeding butt...Not so sure I should have recommended the shed to my wife ;)
Just kidding.

DP-
Nice work!
Good luck to those running in the morristown 5K tomorrow. Watch out for that hill!
Kevin-
Best of luck down south with your firefighting training/testing. All those WODs with the vest will make it seem easy.
The vest will certainly miss you!

Good job Dp! Glad I was there to see it!
Just to clarify, Cheryl gets long lasting raspberries from doing too many situps or too many meters on the row. Sometimes they bleed.

Great job DP! I wish I was there to see you do it :)
