those who choose wod a, I expect all times under 20. we have been doing a lot of double unders lately... it is time to step up to the plate and perform!
those who choose wod b, don't rest on your wall balls. you can get 15 straight... I know, because I have seen you do it!
choose wisely my fitness friends!

Fear it and do it anyway....
Article from CrossFit Watertown
There’s something you’re scared of, something you’ve been dreading, something you don’t want to do.
So, go and do it!
The fear is much worse than the actual experience. Throw the fear to the howling wind in your brain and step over the edge. You’ll fall for a while but then you’ll catch yourself.
Springsteen said it best: “You wake up in the night with a fear so real. You spend your life waiting for a moment that just don’t come. Well don’t waste your time waiting.”

I missed my mark by 2 minutes, and I was 11 seconds slower than my fastest time of 17:09 done on 4/23.

Combo of both WODs:
5 rounds:
15 double-unders
15 wall ball (20#)
6:45
Intended this to be a 10-rounder, but I am just overall smoked. 7 days-on with aches all over, highlights the inportance of recovery and rest days.
This is now the second time the row/double-under WOD lands up on my make-up list.

SvW-
I was just waiting for a comment from you on my making up a what-I-feel-like doing-today WOD - or more like what I DON'T feel like doing.
Cindy turns into Murph...
K2E turns into 150 ghd sit-ups...
What I really should have done today is not stepped foot into the Shed.
Although a 10-rounder of double-unders and wall balls will be a good one to appear on the board.
Hope I can continue to entertain you with my antics.
Back to distance running tomorrow.

geez, I got my ass kicked!
Posted by: Charlie | July 31, 2009 at 10:41 PM
I did WOD A but instead of the double-unders i did 65# deadlifts for 10 rounds...I dont know what I was thinking with the deadlifts...lol
I am going to begin the paleo challenge and figure if I announce it here, I'll have to go through with it for the 30 days and keep you posted...

Yeah Paleo Challenger!
Anna-
There are already some helpful links up on the website - what to eat/avoid, etc.
I am surely going to enjoy today's last breakfast of old fashioned oats, mixed with peanut butter and skim milk...
Anyone else doing the 30-day challenge?

congrats Anna, on stepping up to the plate and taking on the paleo challenge.

Charlie
change your point of view, brother. Getting off the box is going to influence your time, just as it will when you start double unders. It is all part of the process of moving out of the "modified" column. you should not be concerned about your time, but more proud that you didn't have to resort to modified ring dips.

charlie next step double unders, just like your wife Cheryl who has already started to do them. (yes that was ment to burn)
Posted by: Dp | August 01, 2009 at 09:09 AM
Gee charlie; I was inspired to try getting lower in my box dips after seeing you!
Im thinking of trying the paleo challenge; although Im eating a jar of PB each week and just maintaining my weight. No clue what i'd replace it with.
Anna - I caved and got a copy of CS4, it came with a month of Lynda online lessons. If you want the Lynda login, email me.

Pat, I am proud that I didn't revert to the box and managed to push through.
Dp, It burns less when I see your spelling and grammar.
Deb, Glad I could help!
I'm up for the paleo challenge, although I will start Monday instead of today.

J9!
Great community you've forged here! Thanks for throwing more fresh souls onto my Paleo purgatory... :)
Now before I start my own 30 days...I'm gonna go cheat!
Thanks for the interest, guys and gals :)

Deb, I subscribe to Lynda already, but thank you for thinking about me. I hear CS4 is a big improvement over the earlier programs.

Deb, substitute almond butter. Today I had cooked up burgers for my daughter and her friends and wasnt going to eat the bun, but the paleo challenge starts tomorrow so I enjoyed it...
